On August 30, 2025, the Disability Resources Foundation (DRF) hosted a landmark disability summit at the UNZA Confucius Multi-purpose Hall. This event brought together a vibrant community of advocates, partners, and persons with disabilities, highlighting the importance of community engagement. Attendees were physically present from various provinces of Zambia, while a vast global audience joined through our online platform.
The summit served as a powerful testament to our collective resolve, providing a platform for sharing critical information, raising awareness, and delivering profound messages of inspiration and motivation. We were especially moved by the personal stories shared by our keynote speakers, including Mr. Sanjeev Sharda, Ms. Chijika Ngonga, Mr. John Chiti, and Ms. Nosiku Situmbeko, along with many other supporting speakers and entertainers. Their powerful narratives resonated deeply with everyone present, reinforcing the need for assistive devices and underscoring the values celebrated at the Abilympics. Additionally, we organized a food drive to further support our community's needs.

We distributed food hampers and shared a meal with the caregivers and the children with developmental disabilities, fostering community engagement. It was an exciting moment to eat together and hear the different experiences from the caregivers in their caregiving journeys, much like the stories shared at the disability summit. At DRF, love is the driving force that helps us pursue our mission, whether through our food drive or promoting the use of assistive devices. We also look forward to participating in the upcoming Abilympics to further showcase our commitment.

The "Olympics of Abilities" is a key social policy initiative dedicated to integrating people with disabilities into the workforce and society by showcasing their professional skills. This event serves as a global stage for disability inclusion and skills, much like the Abilympics, which highlights the talents of individuals with disabilities.
Our special delegation included DRF Country Director Mr. Raphael Abraham Mbewe and our competitive participant in the Abilympics, Mr. Reginald Mupeta, a graduating student with visual impairment from The University of Zambia. Mobility and inclusion through innovation, including the use of assistive devices, are vital to our mission.
This platform is invaluable for innovation, learning, and expanding our network within the global disability community, as well as fostering community engagement during events such as the disability summit and food drive.

On the 5th of October 2024, in the beautiful City of Lusaka, Zambia, the Disability Resources Foundation hosted a DISABILITY SUMMIT alongside the launch of DR INONGE'S book. We are pleased to report that the event was a success and a significant part of our community engagement efforts. During this inspiring gathering, we gave away 10 wheelchairs, 10 walkers, white canes, sunscreen, a walking stick, elbow and armpit crunches, and many more assistive devices to our friends in the differently-abled community.
Our impact was recognized by various reputable media houses in Zambia, including NATIONAL NEWS on ZNBC, CROWN TV, ZNBC RADIO, and TIMES OF ZAMBIA NEWSPAPER. This achievement marks a milestone for us and reinforces our commitment to supporting the differently-abled community, similar to the spirit of the Abilympics. A statement of IMPACT has been written.
Copies of the book, 'BREAKING BARRIERS,' are available on AMAZON, and hard copies can also be found at our offices in Zambia and Rancho Cordova. Additionally, we are planning a food drive to further support our initiatives.

MOBILITY is an integral part of our vision. We distributed wheelchairs, walking aids, and other assistive devices to individuals in need within the disability community in Zambia. This initiative aligns with our goals for community engagement and supports events like the disability summit and Abilympics, which promote inclusivity. Every wheelchair donated is an opportunity for social participation, inclusion, and independence. It is a gesture of love and care for individuals who are most times sidelined, neglected, or ignored, and we also organize food drives to further support their needs.
